Women's Advent Book Study

Women of the parish are invited to an Advent Book Study. We'll be reading Matthew Kelly's "Holy Moments". We'll meet on Wednesday evenings from 7-8 pm in the Rectory basement beginning on Wednesday, December 3. Women's Club Friendsgiving on November 6

The Women’s Club is hosting a Friendsgiving Dinner for ladies of the parish on Thursday, November 6 in the school cafeteria. This is a great opportunity to gather with our flock of parish friends for fun, fellowship & food. The doors open at 5:30pm and a traditional Thanksgiving dinner will be served at 6:00pm. After dinner we will have an informal Q & A with Fr. Kehoe, fun games and door prizes. Registration for this year's event is closed. Save the Date! Pastor's Annual Party on November 23

All adult members of the parish are invited to attend the Pastor's Annual Party on Sunday, November 23 from 5:00pm to 7:30pm in the school cafeteria. Join us for hearty appetizers as we kick off the Advent season with fun and fellowship. New this year! Childcare is provided for $5 per child.

Handel's "Messiah" to Return to Blessed Sacrament

Ring in the Holiday season with the resplendent music of Bach & Handel! Please join the singers of the Choral Society in the gorgeous surroundings of Blessed Sacrament Church for this beloved annual tradition. And be sure to bring along a warmed-up voice for the obligatory sing-along encore of the Hallelujah Chorus! Tickets: $20, available either online or at the door. Flu Shot Clinic on September 20 and 21

Save the Date! Our Annual Flu Shot Clinic (for anyone ages 10 and over) will take place after all Weekend Masses on September 20 and 21. The Clinic is sponsored by Hy-Vee Pharmacy. There is no charge with Medicare/Medicaid card and most insurance companies) The Sunday Flu Shot Clinics will include free coffee and donuts for all (with or without a flu shot)! Parish Office Closed on Labor Day

Distribution of Communion

The Distribution of Communion in the school parking lot has been discontinued as of July 27, 2025. If you would like to have Communion brought to your home, please contact the parish office at 217-528-7521.

Trinity Class

Seminarian Devin Flach is offering a class on the Trinity beginning Tuesday, July 1. Classes will run through July 22 and you may attend any or all of the classes. The class will take place from 7 - 8:15 pm in the Rectory basement. No need to sign up! Bring a Bible and notebook if you like to take notes!

VBS Returns to Blessed Sacrament!

Blessed Sacrament, get ready to hit the trails for the ultimate Alaskan adventure! VBS will be happening June 23rd—June 27th and you're invited! Students from Preschool to 5th grade are able to register for VBS and students 6th grade - high school are able to sign up for group helpers and leaders. Cost is $30 per student and includes a t-shirt. We will need help with artistic planning, decorating, teaching students, helping with snack time, and much more. Adults are welcome to volunteer as well; the more the merrier! Please contact Amanda Malawy at malawy@bssbruins.org for interest in volunteering or pick up a registration form in the parish! First Step Baby Bottle Fundraiser

Our annual fundraiser for the First Step Women's Center began on Mother's Day and concludes on Father's Day. Baby bottles and/or envelopes are available in the vestibule. Please fill up either the baby bottle or the envelope with checks (made out to "First Step") or currency and return in the collection by Sunday, June 15. The Baby Bottle Campaign funds the life-saving work that First Step Women’s Center offers to the mothers making unplanned pregnancy decisions.

The Parish Office will be closed on Friday, April 18 in observance of Good Friday. We will reopen on Monday, April 21. Have a blessed Easter!

Divine Mercy Sunday

The Divine Mercy Novena began on Good Friday. If you would like to join us we will pray the novena 15 minutes before the prayer service on Good Friday and Holy Saturday and before all the Masses on Easter Sunday and at the daily Masses the following week.

Stations of the Cross

All are welcome to attend Stations of the Cross Fridays during Lent. Stations take place in the church each week at 5:30 PM beginning Friday, March 7.

Last Fish Fry on April 11

Men's Club fish frys in the Blessed Sacrament School cafeteria. Dinners are $12 for adults and $5 for children. Includes all you can eat walleye only. Walleye, swai fried and blackened, shrimp, cheese pizza, mac and cheese. Sides of coleslaw, French fries, or baked potato. 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
