You have made us for yourself, O, Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in thee.St. Augustine
Do you sometimes think “there must be more to life than work, worry, hustle and anxiety.”
Would you like to have more peace in your life?
Is God calling you to something more but you’re not sure what that means?
Are you a non-Catholic married to, or marrying, a Catholic?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, exploring the Catholic faith may be for you. At Blessed Sacrament we offer a way for you to explore Catholicism that respects who you are and the journey of faith you’ve already lived.
In a communal setting we will help you to understand what Catholics believe, how we live as a community of believers, how we worship, and how we interact with, and serve, the wider world. In better understanding those things you may find that you better understand what God is calling you to.
The process we follow is known by the catchy acronym of OCIA, which stands for the Rite Order of Christian Initiation of Adults. Led by lay ministers and clergy, some of whom have been through the same OCIA process, we make sure you get all your questions about Catholicism answered. We pray, we share each other’s joys and sorrows, and we look for God’s hand in all things.
The OCIA is a sort of apprenticeship in the Catholic faith. It combines weekly meetings during the evening with Sunday Mass. Whether you are unbaptized or were baptized in another Christian faith tradition, we’re all God’s children and you will be welcome at Blessed Sacrament.
