A Flu Shot Clinic for anyone age 10 and over, with Hi Dose Vaccine for those age 65 and over sponsored by Hy-Vee Pharmacy (no charge with Medicare/Medicaid card and most insurance companies) will be offered to the parishioners of Blessed Sacrament outside by the school entrance after all Masses, on Saturday, September 12, and Sunday, September 13. School reopened on Monday, August 17. There are staggered drop-off times so please do not use the South Parking Lot when attending daily Mass. Daily Masses will continue at 8:00 AM throughout the year.
Registration for Blessed Sacrament’s Parish School of Religion (PSR), those children in our parish who attend public school, took place on Wednesday, September 2. Registration information is available on our website and can be submitted online or dropped off at the school or the parish. A parent meeting took place on Wednesday, September 9 at 6:30 pm. Individuals and church congregations can come out between 2:00 and 3:00 PM to pray for an end to abortion. Meet us on Bruns Lane and Jefferson at Planned Parenthood (601 Bruns Ln) or on Sangamon Ave near St. Aloysius Church (2000 E. Sangamon Ave) or on Stevenson Drive near Little Flower Church (800 Stevenson Drive). Signs will be available at these locations.
Eucharistic Procession Saturday, October 10, departing from Sacred Heart Church at 11:30AM to the Capitol to join the Rosary Rally outside in front of the Lincoln Statue on 2nd and Capitol streets at Noon. Benediction at the Capitol and return back to Sacred Heart. Bring your rosaries, folding chairs, lawn blankets and flags and join us for all or any part of this event.
